Directors
Ali and Nat are both qualified Early Years Practitioners who formed Hummingbirds over a decade ago with a shared vision to create a child centred, homely environment which nurtures kindness, confidence and wonderment.
As mothers themselves, they understand the importance of the parent-nursery relationship and put a high emphasis on communication with home.
During 2020 they were given the opportunity to move the setting into a beautiful, purpose built building in College Farm Yard in Bramdean, Alresford. Hummingbirds Nursery opened it's new doors in May 2022.

Millie
Junior Director
Millie joined us as Junior Director in summer 2024. She has been a doctor for 6 years and will be completing her last year of GP training alongside working at Hummingbirds. This means she understands just how important it is for children to have the best start in life and strives to help create a nurturing, enriching environment where children can reach their full potential.

Emily
Deputy Manager
Emily has been a core part of the Hummingbirds team since 2017. She has a level 4 foundation degree.
In 2022, Emily took on the role of deputy manager after spending time leading the group for under 2s. She can capture the attention of the whole group with her stories and brilliant Billy the Bird puppet!
Emily grew up in the countryside and loves sharing her passion for nature with the children.

Susie
SENCO
Early Years Practitioner
Susie is an Early Years practitioner, she is deeply committed to providing safe and secure secondary attachments for children that allow them to flourish beyond their own home environment.
She enjoys helping to facilitate learning through playing and exploring.

Claudi
Early Years Practitioner
Preschool Lead
Claudi says that working at Hummingbirds is her dream job! She completed her level 3 qualification in childcare as an apprentice here and has become an integral member of the team. She has worked her way up to become our Preschool Lead and guides the children with enthusiasm and a huge smile.
When she is not covered in paint, giving cuddles and reading stories, Claudi enjoys going to the gym, horse riding and following the sun.

Nicolette
Early Years Practitioner
Deputy Preschool Lead
Following completing a Psychology degree, Nicolette found her passion was in teaching and she has a wealth of experience teaching at different levels.
Nicolette joined our Preschool team after experiencing Hummingbirds from a parents point of view. She loves...

Sarah S
Senior Early Years Practitioner
Under 3s Lead
Sarah is highly qualified with a BA degree in Early Years and a Level 3 Forest School Accreditation as well as a maternity nursing award.
She leads the team for under 3s and brings new and exciting activities to further their learning.
Sarah is currently on Maternity leave following the birth of her second child!

Shelley
Early Years Practitioner
Shelley has joined us with many years experience of childcare, most recently supporting a young boy through primary school with additional needs. She has a level 3 in early years education.
She has a warm and friendly personality and loves to get outdoors!
She is passionate about inclusion and has completed a degree in Psychology!

Sophie S
Early Years Practitioner
Sophie has a level 3 in Early Years Education. She has a wealth of experience in different nursery settings.
She loves being outside and enjoys sport. She is always smiling and the children love her fun and happy approach to learning.
Sophie is currently on maternity leave.

Rachel
Early Years Practitioner
Rachel is also a very experienced practitioner. She brings a extensive knowledge about SEN and early years. She has also spent time assisting in a Forest School and loves getting out and about, exploring nature.

Maddie
Early Years Apprentice
Maddie recently moved from Devon to Hampshire and is completing her Early Years Educator level 3 apprenticeship with us at Hummingbirds.
She enjoys reading to the children and doing art!

Daisey
Early Years Apprentice
Daisey has a first class degree in Criminology! However, she has decided to follow her passion for Early Years and is completing her Early Years Level 3 Apprenticeship with us.
She enjoys arts and crafts activities with the children.

Abbie
Early Years Abbie
Abbie says that she loves her working in early years and finds it incredibly rewarding. She brings experience from her previous setting and is completing her Level 3 apprenticeship with us.
When she's not inspiring little minds, Abbie enjoys cooking, spending time with her family and keeping fit.

Clare
Early Years Assistant
Following travelling the world in an exciting career as a professional dancer, Clare has transitioned her career to spend more time at home.
She brings her positive energy, creativity and sparkle to her interactions with the children and draws from previous experience working in her Mum's nursery, teaching dance and as a learning support assistant in a primary school.

Sarah W
Early Years Assistant
Sarah's positive outlook and friendly, kind nature make her a fantastic addition to the Hummingbirds team. As well as being an experienced Mum, she has worked as a learning support worker in schools for many years. She loves spending time outdoors and with her family and dog.
She has a background as a professional chef and still occasionally takes over the Hummingbirds kitchen when Tracey and Liz are away!

Olivia N
Early Years Practitioner - Bank
Olivia joins us bank staff around her studies at Winchester University in Primary Education. She has previously completed a Level 3 in Early Years Education and is a very competent, friendly and fun practitioner.

Sam
Early Years Practitioner - Bank
Sam joins us after many years experience as an A level Humanities teacher. Following having her own children, she decided to pursue a career in Early Years and joins us as bank staff to fit around her young family.

Tracey
Kitchen Manager
Tracey is a brilliant chef with previous experience working in a Montessori.
She is the heart of the team! She manages our lunchtimes, providing the children with nutritious and home-cooked food.
Tracey regularly spends an hour with the children and often facilitates fun cooking sessions in small groups.

Liz
Chef
Liz is our fantastic chef who has experience in many areas of hospitality. She is the queen of pastry!
Alongside Tracey, she provides healthy and delicious meals.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading and swimming.
Visiting Teachers

James
James comes from Soccer Schools UK and attends Hummingbirds weekly.
His nursery session involves a mixture of SSUK's football "mini-kickers" programme and "multi-skills" programme. The sessions are designed to teach 2-4 year olds the basic skills of football and sport in a fun and creative environment.
He introduces the key fundamentals of movement and ball skills as well as starting to use sporting equipment.

Lorna
Lorna is the owner and coach of Playball Petersfield and attends Hummingbirds twice weekly.
She has 7 years experience of coaching children and uses the Playball structured programme to give each child a sound base from which to develop further sporting skills.
The children love her fun and engaging sessions.

Immi
Immi is a screen actor and the owner of Debutots Southampton North and Winchester. She visits Hummingbirds once a week to provide a special mix of interactive story telling and drama.
She inspires children to develop a love for stories and language and give them the opportunity to explore the wonder of their own imaginations.
